MANAGER OF HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS PROGRAM

Rates of Pay: Commensurate with Experience
This is a Part-time Managerial position reporting to the Director of Prevention Services with some flexibility to meet the needs of the program.
This position is responsible for providing leadership and the oversight of counselling services to clients of the Healthy Relationships Program of the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter (CWES). Group and/or individual clients may have experienced family conflict and/or abuse, had difficulty maintaining healthy dating relationships, or struggled to get along with people at school, at home or in the community.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primarily serve youth clients within the program, while promoting the program and family violence awareness and prevention.
- Continuously review and improve this program to ensure it best meets the needs of CWES and the clients we serve.
- Recruit, hire and supervise the healthy relationships facilitators through supervision and support them in the fulfillment of their job responsibilities with compliance to the Agency policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership through regular team meetings (during school year)
- Provide initial and ongoing training for program staff to ensure services are provided according to best practices and Agency standards
- Schedule facilitators to meet school and program needs
- Develop and maintain a working relationship with School Liaisons to ensure effective collaboration
- As appropriate facilitate groups, provide individual counselling and community presentations on healthy relationships
- Manage the waitlist and develop strategies for meeting the needs of the waitlist
- Work in a flexible manner that can adjust to program requirements.
- As a member of the management team, participate in the planning and operations of CWES.
- Actively participate in Program Evaluation, ensuring the completion and submission of Pre/Post measures and Program Evaluation Surveys in a timely manner.
- Provide direction to ensure the CWES mandate of eliminating/preventing family violence is furthered through excellent operations of this program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters in Social Work, Counselling or equivalent preferred
- Must be registered with the appropriate Professional Association.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a client centered manner
- An understanding of issues regarding family violence and healthy relationships
- Three years related experience preferred in the areas of group and adolescent counselling, staff supervision and program development preferred
- Awareness of relevant resources within the community
- Ability to work flexibly as part of a team and to coordinate the involvement of other colleagues.
- Excellent communication (oral and written), organizational, time management and multitasking skills.
- Ability to meet defined deadlines.
- A criminal records search and an intervention record check are conditions of employment.
